Nuclear Power Plant Gushes Radiation Into Lake Michigan

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Last summer, a leaky tank led to the shutdown of the Palisades nuclear power plant in Michigan. So plant owner Entergy patched up the leak, fired back up the reactor, and hoped for the best.
But on Saturday the leaky drip turned into a gush, nearly 80 gallons of water containing small amounts of radioactive tritium and possibly trace amounts of cobalt and cesium spewed into Lake Michigan.
Early Sunday morning, the tank was ruled inoperable and the nuclear power plant began powering down. This is reportedly the ninth time that the facility has been shut down since 2011.
I’ll be the first to say it.  End nuclear power now.  The costs of accidents, spills, meltdowns FAR outweigh the benefits of nuclear energy.  This is ridiculous.  Human beings are so suicidalI just don’t understand.  its like all the sheep are on auto pilot and go willingly off the cliff if the shepard tells them to.  Its not a crime to think for yourself.  Its not.  I dont care if they outlaw it, NEVER submit.   -Mort

Nuclear power is an EVIL for what Ever purpose it is utilized for. All nuclear power plants whether civilian or otherwise should be shut down.

Look into how close we came to losing 2 plants right after Fukushima. Ft. Calhoun and the Cooper plants on the Missouri River. Without a earthquake triggering a tsunami, both plants were threatened by flooding and then loss of electrical power for the cooling pumps. Emergency dikes were put in place and a disaster was temporally avoided. Just up river, is a dam, that was experiencing its own problems with the spring floods. Had the dam failed, the Missouri would have carried the problem to the Mississippi, then on to the gulf.
Even if nuclear was somehow free, the threat makes it absolutely insane to run this global killers one more hour. Why TF is that guy in the White House shutting down the coal plants and leaving the nuclear plants running?
