SYRIA: new rocket attack on Assad bases, Israel toys with Iran invasion, and US weapons expert explodes Douma chemical attack myth. (But Piers Morgan is alright, Jack)

 As The Slog predicted last week, the Syrian crisis has only just begun. Benjamin Netanyahu is teeing up an attack on Iran, and ‘somebody’ attacked Syrian bases last Sunday night. Little by little, the lava of Western lies is flowing hotter and more freely….but the old media cabal is studiously ignoring it. Is the internet Resistance too little too late?

Bear with me, this is not a bzzzzz deviation: it is a sure sign of the decline in our civilisation that, not only is Piers Morgan a free man facing no charges of any kind, he still has a job. It’s not much of a job mind you – presenting Good Morning Britain for ITV with three attractive young women – but it does give him free rein to strut his stuff.

In truth, Piers doesn’t strut, he romps. One of my few claims to minor fame is that I informed the British and American publics eight years ago that an anagram of his name is Romping Arse. He didn’t take it well.

The problem with Mr Morgan is that he is happy presenting faux-knockabout codswallop, taking the mickey out of easy targets while joshing with three dolly birds; but lacks the balls to take on any real beasts about anything substantial. He thinks Amber Rudd is “pretty impressive”, and that Rajid Javid will bring “an air of businesslike freshness” to his new job. He joined the queue late to catch Diane Abbott out (words like candy and babies spring to mind) and he’s ever-ready to pontificate about the awfulness of Big Business.

But the Romper is a product of big business, and a pillar of the Establishment. From Newscorp via the Mirror to CNN and now ITV, he has made his way via fawning interviews of the powerful and bullying the smaller fry. The Leveson Enquiry described his testimony as “utterly unpersuasive” – a polite way to say he lied about his knowledge of, and involvement in, the illegal hacking of celebrity mobile phones. Paul McCartney agrees, but did not prefer charges. That damned the former Beatle in my eyes: but like all those Born to Rule, Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (né O’Meara) remains as free as a bird.

This is important to my subject today, because Morgan is the last media person ever to question The State….and that’s why he’s running GMB: he’s cheeky and chirpy and outrageous and about as effective as a quadraplegic monkey when it comes to real journalism. (The one time he tried it over the Iraq war, he got the story wrong, and was summarily fired)

Not for Piers a scintilla of doubt about poisonings or chemical attacks or Russophobia because this is a family show. The State tamed morning TV decades ago, but in Morgan they found a little monkey with a placard saying ‘Please Let Me In’.

As long as harmless bombasts present the news, the Truth has no chance….and it therefore falls to people of sterner stuff to speak Truth to Power.

The latest courageous man to do this is a mainstream American weapons inspector by the name of Scott Ritter – arguably one of the most experienced American weapon hounds there is, and a former commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps. His speciality back then was intelligence, and at the peak of his career Ritter was assigned to the On-Site Inspection Agency, put together to go into the Soviet Union and oversee the implementation of the Intermediate Nuclear Forces Treaty.

There follow some brief extracts from his testimony to Consortium News – so if you think I’m being unduly selective, you can follow that link above, and judge for yourselves:

“Earlier this year, the Syrian government initiated an offensive to liberate [the Gouta and Douma] area of [rebel] factions.  It was very heavy fighting, thousands of civilians were killed, with massive aerial bombardment. Government forces were prevailing and by April 6 it looked as if the militants were preparing to surrender.

“Suddenly the allegations come out that there was this chemical weapons attack.  According to the militants, between 40 and 70 people were killed and up to 500 people were made ill. The United States and other nations picked up on this, saying that this was proof positive that Syria has been lying about its chemical weapons program and that Russia has been behind Syria’s retention of chemical weapons.  This is the case the US made to launch its missile strike [on April 14].

“There are a lot of problems with this scenario.  Again, why would the Syrian government, at the moment of victory, use a pinprick chemical attack with zero military value?  It added nothing to the military campaign and invited the wrath of the West at a critical time, when the rebels were begging for Western intervention. The United States, France and Great Britain have all admitted that the only evidence they have used to justify this attack were the photographs and videotapes sent to them by the rebel forces.

“One of the tragedies is that we can no longer trust our military, our intelligence services, our politicians.  They will manufacture whatever narrative they need to justify an action that they deem to be politically expedient…. What evidence do they have that any of this [nerve agent] material exists?  They just make it up.

“As an American citizen who happens to be empowered with knowledge about how weapons inspections work, how decisions are made regarding war, I am disillusioned beyond belief…..we have been lied to by the corporate media, a bunch of paid mouthpieces who repeat what the government tells them without question.

“So Donald Trump can say there are chemical weapons in Syria, the generals parrot his words, the Congress nods its head dumbly, and the mass media repeats it over and over again to the American public.”

 As you can see from his picture (left) Mr Ritter is not about to audition for a major role in Antifa. He would look like a CIA plant at a Momentum Rally. He’s just a diligent, militarily trained All-American Boy who knows that an Alt State cabal has taken over his democracy, and as it happens he knows exactly what he’s talking about, because he is – genuinely for once – an experienced expert.

The more familiar face of Paul Craig Roberts (every Alt State’s favourite “call him a looney” target for several years now) is gradually becoming more mainstream, because the mainstream is edging towards him. In short, most of what he predicts has happened. In his latest missive five days ago, he had this to say on Syria – having noted 3 days earlier that the OPCW “found no evidence of any gas attack in Damascus”:

‘…..the crisis [escalated] with last night’s as of yet unclaimed attack on Syrian military positions with what appears to have been “bunker buster” bombs….The attacks last night killed Iranians, and the next attack might kill Russian military personnel. At some point the Russian government might tire of its humiliation, in which case Israeli and US aircraft will begin falling from the sky and attacks on “rebel” positions will claim US lives…..’

This is sort of what’s worrying all of us with a functioning brain. There are two incredibly obvious things going on here:

1. A fabrication has been erected by three Western (aka neocon) “allies” to provide a very, very doubtful case for attacking Assad. It started in Salisbury onanism, became engorged in Douma, and ejaculated with 103 missiles being fired at Damascus, almost all of which ignored the alleged ‘chemical weapon’ targets that provided “the case” in the first place
2. The MIC’s plan to cause country by country chaos in the Middle East (a line of dots I dismissed as conspiracy theory until 2013) is now focused on Syria, but is a sprat to catch the mackerel they really want: Iran. For confirmation of this, look no further than President Trump’s determination to renege on the nuclear ‘deal’ with that country.

What beggars belief (or it does for me) is that, as every piece slots perfectly into a jigsaw of Western distortion and invention, the pro-US Middle in both the States and Britain becomes more strident in its insistence that “you’re just a useful idiot and this is all a Russian trick”.

For example, they dismiss the OPCW conviction about the lack of chemical pollution in Damascus by saying, “Well obviously, the Russians had time to clean it up”. The same allegation was made by a news anchor on France24 last week. But they are wrong, wrong, wrong. This is what Scott Ritter affirms on the subject:

“If I had been a member of that inspections team, I would have been able to tell you with 100% certainty what took place at that site.  It wasn’t that long ago that the allegations took place, there are very good forensic techniques that can be applied. We would be able to reverse engineer that site and tell you exactly what happened when.”

So: another Western lie is revealed. But don’t lose sight of what Roberts reported about the attack on April 29th….did you see, read or hear about that in the MSM? No, neither did I. But take note: Benjamin Netanyahu spent much of yesterday personally presenting evidence he says proves that Iran is expanding its nuclear missile programme (and range) covertly.

This is what apparently happened the night before: rockets struck several military bases containing Iranian missiles in the Hama and Aleppo countryside in “new aggression” by Assad’s enemies, the state controlled  television said. One of the locations hit was an army base known as Brigade 47 near Hama city, widely known as a recruitment center for Iranian-backed Shi’ite militias who fight alongside President Bashar al-Assad’s forces.

Netanyahu’s fear of Iranian intentions is not exactly baseless: the fundamentalist régime there is perhaps the most rabidly anti-Israel in the region, and both US Republicans and Mossad believe the Obama/Kerry entente on nuclear development was a crock. But it does smack of Benny Boy getting his retaliation in first, as it were.

Fully 62 years after the joint Anglo-French-Israeli operation against Nasser’s nationalisation of the Suez canal, incredibly it looks like the nutjobs may be going for a repeat of the black op.

On that occasion, a military man – President Dwight Eisenhower – was nevertheless still a staunch and unbending guardian of US values and democracy. He basically told the three allies, “Stop it now – or else”….and of course, they complied.

But now the Alt State owns the White House and the State Department. There is nobody to stop the fruitloops, no free Western media to influence public opinion, and no power capable of intervening….except Russia.

Donald Trump could stop the lunacy right now. He has already said “an invasion of Syria would be un-American”. But then, he also said he wasn’t going to get dragged into the Syrian morass. And now he’s up to his fat neck in it.

As I posted last week, we await the next “unprovoked attack” by one of America’s enemies on one or more of its allies, warships and citizens. After that, anything could happen.

Meanwhile, Piers Morgan does his job, D-Notices are served, and everyone from the Daily Mail via the Washington Post and New York Times to the bankrupt Guardian and the morally bankrupt BBC trot out narratives like so many Vichy collaborationists after 1940.

Is there an MSM medium on either side of the Atlantic ready to call out the liars? Will it be German, or perhaps even French?

We must all hope so. And we must find a way to say, “For God’s sake get on with it”.
