The New iPhone

I have a cell phone.  I am not a big “have to have the newest cutting edge” cell phone guy.  For startups, there are certainly differences in the way you have to program apps on them, and in the target markets that have them.

I have had startups exclusively target Android, because the bulk of their market was on that platform.

Cell phone launches used to be breathless.  Remember, the original iPhone wasn’t launched until January 2007.  We are roughly 10 years into the development.   Apple’s new iPhone 7 release yesterday saw some good developments but mostly it was ho hum.

The real action is in the software, not the hardware.  For phones to get better, we need hardware to catch up.  That means smaller parts with more power.   It means better batteries.  It means more interoperability.  A company I am invested in NuCurrent has seen the future.  Wireless charging is possible with their technology.

NuCurrent technology charges things faster, and at lower temperatures than any competitor.  That’s a big deal.  When all phone manufacturers integrate their technology into their phones and other wireless products, the world will be a better place.  Your life will become a lot more convenient.

The good news is this phone is a step in the right direction.  But, 10 years from now it will look like a manual typewriter compared to a first generation word processor.
