New Age Beverages to sell Bucha Live Kombucha at Ahold Delhaize

Colorado-based New Age Beverages Corporation (NASDAQ:NBEV) is widening its reach by expanding the sale of its drinks like Bucha Live Kombucha to the aisles of the retailer Ahold Delhaize.

Bucha Live Kombucha, a flavored tea, distinguishes itself from its competitors in the alternative soda market as it has a 12-month shelf life and requires no refrigeration. As part of the merchandising deal, the drinks will sit in permanent off-shelf racks at more than 600 Ahold Delhaize stores.

New Age Beverages stock has been on a tear recently on rumors that The Coca-Cola Co (NYSE:KO) is considering taking control of the company. In Wednesday’s pre-market session, New Age shares shot up another 21.6% to US$2.82.

The US is Ahold Delhaize’s largest market as the retailer has stores in twenty-three states.

“Now with more distribution and more merchandising with great partners like Ahold, more consumers will be able to enjoy this great brand,” said Krista Lumley, brand manager for Bucha Live Kombucha.

Founded in 2016, New Age Beverages, which is based in Denver, also makes Xing Tea, Coco-Libre and Marley, a line of beverages created in partnership with Bob Marley’s family.
