Internet of Things unit Weather Telematics launches critical road safety platform

Internet of Things Inc (CVE:ITT) (OTCMKTS:INOTF) announced Tuesday that its Weather Telematics Inc subsidiary is launching a new road safety alert platform designed for safer mobility.

Predictiv SA (Safety Alerts) provides drivers with a single alert when it senses dangerous road conditions ahead and requires immediate driver intervention. The platform is designed to help drivers avoid or mitigate dangerous road conditions before they occur.

The platform is an extension of the Toronto-based subsidiary’s Predictiv RC global platform and enables Weather Telematics to deliver “micro-scale” mapping resolution, according to the company. The advanced capability improves the safety of current connected and electric vehicles and provides the necessary data to operate autonomous vehicles in all weather conditions.

“Many of today’s vehicles are capable of detecting dangerous road weather conditions near the vehicle, but in some cases it’s too late for the driver to take action,” said Bob Moran, CEO of Weather Telematics, in a statement. “Predictiv SA has been specifically designed to give drivers and vehicles predictive awareness of hazards before they pose life-threatening risks.”

Weather Telematics offers road safety data products for industrial and government sectors using a mobile IoT sensor network and AI machine learning.

Internet of Things recently signed a joint venture partnership with Hope Data Technology Co Ltd and New Hope IoT Intl Inc, which are affiliated with New Hope Group — one of China’s largest privately-owned entities.

Shares of Internet of Things last traded at C$0.05 in Toronto Monday and US$0.04 in the US.
