Codebase Ventures Inc (CSE:CODE) (OTCMKTS:BKLLF) announced Wednesday that its media subsidiary, Pressland, officially launched a new publication called News-to-Table, which covers media trust and transparency.

The public launch of the new digital platform, which has been operating in beta mode since January 2019, will be run by Pressland’s editorial director, Alexander Zaitchik, who will assume the role of editor-in-chief.

News-to-Table will serve as a platform for the media industry’s top thinkers to share their thoughts on the issues facing their industry, and act as a commercial “calling card” for Pressland, Jeff Koven, Codebase’s Chief Strategy Officer said in a statement.

“In just three months, News-to-Table has helped established Pressland as a vitally important, well-respected voice in the conversation around media trust,” said Editor-in-Chief Alexander Zaitchik, who is currently on assignment in Brazil for the Pulitzer Center. “As we bring Pressland to market, we’ll benefit immeasurably from this goodwill in the industry.”

Editorial team

The magazine has already published work by several leading media figures such as former New Republic editor Theodore Ross and Dr. Stephen J.A. Ward, who takes on the role of Pressland’s public editor.

Pressland is helmed by Codebase’s Koven, a media industry executive with an entrepreneurial background. Zaichik has more than 20 years’ experience working as a journalist, editor and author.

Vancouver-based Codebase Ventures invests in early-stage technology opportunities that offer big returns. Shares of Codebase closed at C$0.05 on Tuesday in Canada and US$0.03 in the US.
