Enertopia updates with positive findings from Clayton Valley brine testing

Enertopia Corp (CNSX:TOP) (OTCMKTS:ENRT), the lithium-focused group, was boosted Tuesday as it unveiled positive findings from solution testing on material from its Clayton Valley project in Nevada, USA.

Since last month (March), the Kelowna-based firm has been running in-house tests to establish how to recover lithium in the most cost-effective way from synthetic brines.

From the bulk samples of 2017, the firm decided to carry out fraction size testing (using different particle sizes).

“The company is pleased to report that 16.5% of the sample which was composed of mainly coarser material contained only 2.5% of the lithium. The remaining 82.5% of the sample size contained 97.5% of the lithium,” said Enertopia in today’s statement.

Based on these positive results, the firm has now sent 5kg samples of material from the upper oxide, upper reduced, and main reduced zones to see if these three horizons can also be beneficially sorted as well.

”Our ongoing solution testing of the drilled lithium horizons continues to provide great insights and novel ways to strive for a low-cost mining and processing solution to unlock the potential value of the lithium enriched claystones,” CEO of Enertopia Robert McAllister told investors.

In-house testing

Enertopia also revealed that its in-house testing had also confirmed its earlier results for removing contaminants and leaving lithium in solution.

The aim is to remove as much as possible unwanted contaminates before the enriched lithium synthetic solution is processed – lowering costs.

“Our pre-pH adjustments have demonstrated positive outcomes as contaminant minerals are greatly reduced allowing for a cleaner synthetic lithium brine to be processed using off the shelf technologies and variants developed by Entertopia,” it told investors Tuesday.
