There would be community garden plots for people who don’t have their own backyard.

“As part of that, we have created a greenway through the plan from end to end. Some of the lands will be municipal reserve, which basically means owned and maintained by the city and some of the lands are going to be the community’s private lands, which will be maintained by the homeowners’ association,” she says. “We envision this as an opportunity to hire a manager for the community who would oversee the programming for the agricultural urbanism component, which is programming the growing and production of the green spaces in different ways, from orchards to food gardens to kitchen gardens for growing vegetables for the community for private individuals in the community or potentially for restaurants.

There would be community garden plots for people who don’t have their own backyard. There would be learning opportunities so the program manager would host information sessions on how to plan gardens, how to plant the gardens, how to harvest seeds in the off season, how to harvest the produce from the growing season, how to preserve it.”
