The problem with the healthcare system providing assistance to Women with a defective Essure birth control product

I’m posting this publicly cause I want to share something that means a lot to me.
Most of you all know that I’ve been battling Essure birth control to be removed from the market and I also help (along with 10 other admins) run a Facebook group of 8000+ women called Essure problems.
This group is mainly victims of the Essure device that need help or looking for answers as to why their health is deteriorating.

What I’ve learned and the friends I’ve gained have made me a better person.
But…I’ve also seen the ugly side of society, doctors and our health care system. 90% of these women cannot get help. Either their doctors claim it cannot be the device, ignore them, send them for unnecessary testing, wrong diagnosis or just plain flat out write them off as crazy.

Imagine KNOWING you are sick and KNOWING what is making you sick and everyone tells you it’s “in your head”! Some women have been through 5+ doctors to find 1 that MIGHT help but still isn’t sure your truthful.
These women have suffered for months and some years being diagnosed with everything but what was really their problem. To live in pain and nobody believes you…that’s truly isolating.

On the flip side, I have seen the biggest acts of love and compassion I’ve ever known in my life!
We have a doctor who joined the group and although at first came across skeptical, it didn’t take long for him to see the real problems and the brokenness of the healthcare system.

This doctor is an OBGYN who specializes in VBAC, runs a busy doctors office and of course delivering babies.
BUT…seeing our struggles and issues, he’s taken it upon himself to attend to every women in the group who needs him. Devoting his TIME to help us raise awareness and get these women the medical care they need! THAT…..I’ve never seen from a doctor. I don’t know one doctor that devotes 3+ hours a day online or on the phone. I don’t know one doctor willing to stand up against the FDA, ACOG, AAGL and other doctors to tell them they are wrong! I don’t know any doctor who puts patients first the way you do Julio Novoa

I don’t know why you joined the group but id like to believe god puts people in places they need to be. You have helped us in so many ways, I cannot express how much I value having you as part of our group. You are and amazing doctor, advocate and friend. Thank you Dr. Novoa for your compassion and amazing patient care!
