The Shocking Reason They Won't Ban Flights From Ebola-Stricken Africa
Transmission rates in Liberia are currently doubling every 15 to 20 days. So a travel ban only seems like the sensible, safe thing to do to protect the American people. Thomas Duncan, the first Ebola patient to sneak in the country, came in no problemo, and would still be able to enter under the new “temperature-taking” guidelines, as he showed no symptoms.
Ebola symptoms take up to 21 days to show up, so anyone who is knowingly exposed has about 3 weeks to get a plane ticket “Out of Africa” and into the US, just like Duncan. He’s dead now, and they are blaming THAT on racism. But that’s besides the point. Ebola is a deadly virus, and there’s no doubt, we DON’T WANT IT HERE!
So it only makes sense to ban travel from the affected African nations. Infected people could be on the plane, spreading it to hundreds in those close quarters. Or if they aren’t contagious until they get here, they still have 2-3 weeks to potentially spread it to God-Knows-How-Many people.
So why is the Centers for Disease Control, the Department of Homeland Security, Health and Human Services, the National Institute of Health, and oh yeah, that guy that’s supposed to be in charge – not instituting a travel ban?
Because….
We have a bunch of academic liberal bureaucrats who, at the current time, think the economy of Africa is more important than the potential outbreak of a deadly pandemic in America. I think it’s time to start reruns of “Outbreak” or “Contagion” or “Quarantine”, even “World War Z.” I mean, really, an outbreak of Ebola is not unlike any handful of zombie movies.
“And it was like an invasion, where the agents suspected that they were catching about 1% of those coming in. Of what they were apprehending, some of these people had obvious illnesses. They had shivering type fevers, were nauseous and/or vomiting an/or they had diarrhea.”
Watson: Do you think that in the future that maybe these people with illnesses could be Ebola victims?
“It’s very difficult to get any information about these people at that time. But it was at a time when the Ebola outbreak in those 3 African countries was burgeoning. And these people either came through or were from West Africa, and were seen in the Rio Grande Valley and…those people were released into the population in America.
A lot of these screenings and releases were happening in like 5-6 days. The incubation period between the time the person contracts Ebola until they show symptoms is anywhere from 2 -21 days.
If they traveled from Africa to Mexico and to the US in 5 days, and were held in detention for 5 days, they would be essentially halfway through the incubation period until they showed any type of symptoms of having the Ebola virus. That was a big concern to us, that they weren’t held long enough to determine whether or not they had the virus…”
Watson: What do you think about the CDC refusing to block the borders or the air flights?
[Closing the borders or flights] isn’t worth adversely affecting the economy of these West African nations by quarantining the borders of those countries.
And they were talking about- it wasn’t worth adversely affecting the economy of these West African nations by quarantining the borders of those countries. Well, exactly, who are they representing? Are they representing the people of West Africa and their economy or are they out to protect the people of the United States?
When you have the spokesman from Homeland Security and Dr. Tony Fauci of the National Institute of Health and all the other officials saying, “No, we are not going to do anything to protect the American people at the risk the economy of 3 third world African nations?”
That, sir, is an invitation to people to continue to come here illegally.”
According to a recent report from USAID: ”The World Bank Group released a report on October 7 outlining the financial and fiscal impacts of the outbreak.
In the short term, the World Bank estimates the loss in GDP for the West Africa sub-region … could be as high as $7.4 billion in 2014 and $25.2 billion in 2015. The report notes that the estimations are based on scarce data and uncertainty regarding the future epidemiological path.”
In a USAID press release on October 10, “U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Rajiv Shah will travel to Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Senegal Oct. 13-17, to meet with national and local officials, aid organizations, and staff coordinating the international response to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.”
By the time he returns, the incubation period for anyone that potentially caught Ebola from Patient Zero will be up. We shall see if anyone else has caught the virus in Dallas. And if they have, be assured, ALL HELL WILL BREAK LOSE in this country.
