Hubbard Dianetics Foundation Celebrated 65th Anniversary of Dianetics on Saturday

For anyone who has experienced self-doubt, depression, anxiety or unreasonable fears, the book Dianetics: the Modern Science of Mental Health is the resource to turn to for answers and guidance.

The book was written in 1950 for the man on the street to better himself and the lives of others around him. Now, 65 years later, its impact is still felt across the world. People traveled from far and wide to attend the anniversary event held in Nashville, Tennessee where awards were given to counselors and trainers on the subject.

When “Dianetics: the Modern Science of Mental Health” was published on May 9, 1950, it sparked a movement. Since its release date, the book has become the best selling self-help book of all time.

Humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard, who authored the text, wrote in prodigious volume, totaling more than fifteen million words between 1929 and 1941. Hubbard’s prolific writing career funded his research into the mind, enabling him to travel across much of the United States, the Caribbean and Asia.

With case material collected from several decades of research, Hubbard completed Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health, and it was released on May 9, 1950. It was on the New York Times bestseller list for twenty-eight consecutive weeks and inspired what newspaper headlines described as “Dianetics-taking U.S. by storm,” “Dianetics – Overnight Whirlwind Success” and “Dianetics: A study of the mind – fastest growing ‘movement’ in America.”

Dianetics has since become a global phenomenon with the book now available in 165 nations in 50 languages. Today, L. Ron Hubbard’s works are studied and applied daily in over a thousand Dianetics centers, Scientology churches, missions and organizations around the world. The Dianetics Seminar has seen much success in Nashville where it is delivered out of the Hubbard Dianetics Foundation, a department within the Church of Scientology.
