“Life, Liberty & Pursuit of Happiness” NOT Medical Care! What you wanted to know about Obamacare & were afraid to ask

The founders of our Constitution got it right, There is a huge difference between life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and what Congress thinks is “healthcare.” This is because prescription drugs have made medical care a leading cause of death and that’s what Obamacare is all about.

Visiting US senate offices with medical literature supporting the above facts, one senator told me that I was wasting my time. She said, “They own us,” speaking of the drug company contributions to their re-election campaigns.

Let’s look at it philosophically. If we were born normal and 40, 50 or 60 years later if our bodies are complaining with symptoms, we’ve done it to ourselves because the body is built from the building blocks that we give it. Poor choices mean poor health.

We should defend anyone’s right to choose as they please, but why should they ask us to pay for their poor choices with taxes to provide medical care that’s an inevitable result of a self-indulgent or ignorant [ignoring wise principles] lifestyle.

It’s been close to 30 years since a Blue Cross study identified smoking and drinking in 15% of hospital admissions equaled the cost of 85% of admissions where the patient did not smoke or drink.

Some physicians recognize that the body is designed for self-healing and that most diseases are reversible if we know how to cooperate with the body’s healing mechanism.

A great example is the Pritikin diet of low fat, low cholesterol that helped 85% of patients off their blood pressure medication in the mid-1970′s, reported at the America College of Cardiology meetings is a study of over 200 patients. Pritikin got similar results with diabetic patients. Some got off of insulin and all patients who took pills were able to discontinue their drugs.

Pritikin observed that the opposite of his diet was high fat, high protein which made cancer and other diseases more likely. Visiting his center, I observed heart patients who were there to avoid bypass surgery. Of 65 patents with triple vessel disease who went to the center, three years later 90% never had the surgery and only one had died (reported in the Medical Tribune)

A personal experience I had with a 65-year old executive with three cardiologists supports this. He was taking 12 pills a day. His doctors felt his “small vessel disease” did not lend to bypass surgery, but he was getting worse. Desperate, he adopted the low-fat, low cholesterol diet and exercised daily by walking to the point of mild chest pain and slowing up, but continuing to walk. He cured his angina and survived another 29 years, dying at 94.
