3 Acne Treatments You Haven’t Tried Yet
Acne. It’s the worst. Many of us will have had to deal with it at one point or another during our adolescent lives, but for most of us, it tends to stop as we age. Unfortunately, for some people, acne persists way into adulthood and proves too stubborn to get rid of.
The problem is that traditional acne treatments like over-the-counter topical acne creams don’t always work. And when these kinds of treatments fail, many people give up and learn to live with it. Well, you don’t have to.
It’s almost certainly more than possible to get rid of your acne once and for all – you probably just haven’t found the right treatment yet. With that in mind, here are some lesser-known natural acne treatments that might just do the trick!
1. Zinc Supplements
Many people think that treatment for acne means using creams and lotions to ‘fix’ your skin. But in reality, the stuff you put into your body is just as important as what you put on to it. Those constant breakouts could have an underlying cause related to your nutrition.
That’s why it’s worth considering taking zinc supplements. This essential nutrient helps with things like immune function, cell growth, and producing hormones. Researchers have found that people who suffer from acne tend to have less zinc that those don’t and that taking zinc orally can help to reduce symptoms.
While we’re on the topic of nutrition, you could also try reducing the amount of dairy in your diet. Some people have found that reducing dairy helped their acne to go away.
2. CBD Oil
The reason you probably haven’t tried this treatment is that, until very recently, it was unheard of. That was, at least, until last year, when the US Congress legalized hemp and it’s versatile derivate ‘CBD’ for medical use.
Since then, the CBD market has been blowing up thanks to some early research that suggests CBD may prove to be beneficial for a whole bunch of things – one of which is as a treatment for acne. Try using Cibdol topically and see if it helps.
3. Change Your Pillowcase
Sometimes, the best solutions to problems are also the most simple ones. It’s easy to overlook something as basic as your pillowcase, but it may be that this really is the cause of the problem.
Having acne doesn’t necessarily mean there’s something wrong with your skin or body – it could just be your environment. Bacteria can cause breakouts, and your pillowcase is a nest of bacteria.
Even if you wash your face regularly and think you have pretty good hygiene practices, you probably lay face down against your pillowcase every night. If it’s not clean, that provides ample opportunity for nasty bacteria to attack your skin and cause you to breakout.
The problem is that pillowcases are easily overlooked. Most of us change our bedding once a week at least, but you should probably be doing it more often. Try changing your pillowcases every 2 nights and see if you notice an improvement in your acne.
