Mexico City.A shipment of 120 kilos of crystal meth from the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG) was intercepted by the Federal Police at the International Airport of Mexico City (AICM).

The synthetic drug was hidden in computer equipment, from Jalisco and its destination was to be Australia; According to the estimations, the market value of the seized drug is 76 million dollars.

In the cargo area of the air terminal, agents of the regional security division detected computers in eight cardboard boxes. While reviewing them with non-intrusive equipment and canine, they discovered that hidden inside were a hundred packages, made with carbon paper, aluminum and transparent plastic.

“With the support of the ministerial authority, the federal police conducted a thorough inspection of the packages, which contained white granulated powder, with the characteristics of the drug known as meth, weighing approximately 120 kilograms,” he said.

The eight boxes came from the municipality of Zapopan, Jalisco, to a suburb on the north coast of Sydney in Australia, where the seized amount of this drug would reach a black-market apx value of 1.5 billion pesos.
