6 Skeletal Remains Buried in a House in Acapulco

Translated by Yaqui for Borderland Beat from: Debate

Marines from the Mexican Navy found the remains reduced to skeletons of six men in clandestine graves inside a house in the coastal city of Acapulco.   Some bodies were tied hand and foot and one had a wire around the throat.
The finding was announced on Thursday by the state government of Guerrero. The corpses occupied four graves in a poor neighborhood, far from the tourist zone with its beaches on the Pacific. The gangs of narcos and kidnappers often bury their victims in these pits.
The morgues in Guerrero and other Mexican states can not cope with the large number of bodies found in the streets and in clandestine graves, many of which are never identified.

Violence also increases in the central state of Guanajuato, where the attorney general’s office reported finding a pile of limbs on a street in the city of Salamanca. It was determined that they were two men.
The investigators said they had evidence of the involvement of a drug cartel, but did not disclose them.
The local press published a photo of a handwritten poster on the stack of members with the initials of the Jalisco Nueva Generación cartel. This criminal organization has been introduced into the area, near an oil refinery, to participate in the theft of fuel from the oil pipelines.
Carmen Ortiz and Santos Alonso Cerritos
In the town of Apaseo, gunmen killed the local director of the traffic and transport police, Santos Alonso Cerritos, hours after he took office, while he was eating at a local restaurant, according to the attorney general’s office in Guanajuato.
Cerritos was named by the new mayor Carmen Ortiz, who took over this week after her husband Remedios Aguirre was murdered while campaigning for mayor. Ortiz offered herself as a candidate instead of her husband and won the election.
The agrarian and industrial state of Guanajuato had a homicide rate similar to the national average, but so far this year rose to almost double the national average, a fact that authorities attribute to fights between gangs of fuel thieves.
