Yesterday, a CDG ambush of CDN sicarios, against gunmen from the Northeast Cartel in Ciudad Mier, Tamaulipas, resulted in the death of at least 5 CDN gunmen.
Mier: In 2010, was the beginning of the heighten violence in Tamaulipas and CDG vs Zetas. “Tamps” became a blackout news state, and the titureo movement was born, to distribute narco movement news and events of danger. Tamaulipas was ground zero for this movement that continues today.
It was also in 2010 that Cd. Mier was the city that was the first in that conflict, that citizens were warned to leave the city or be killed, as CDG and Zetas were in an around the clock conflict. 90% of residents abandoned their homes and life in Tamps after the warning, taking to shelters in San Miguel Aleman. Mier hasn’t made the news much since then, but I recall the time when it did, and the kids and families we met in the shelter of San Miguel Aleman.
