After a hearing at the Oral Justice Center of Merida, Judge Luis Mugarte Guerrero declared “illegal” the arrest of Eleazar Medina Rojas “El Chelelo” for what he was arrested for, and ordered released immediately but was immediately arrested by the federal Attorney General’s Office (PGR ).

The PGR agents decided to attend the high security hearing, and were waiting for him, at which time they presented an arrest warrant.

A hearing was held in the CJOM to to determine the legality of the arrest of “El Chelelo” and and if so to charge him with for falsification of documents.

However, Judge Mugarte considered that the arrest of the CDG capo was not legal, so he indicated that there were no legal issues to deprive him of his freedom.

Despite this, PGR personnel went to the hearing, presenting an arrest warrant and immediately “El Chelelo” was transferred to Mexico City.

It was said that Medina Rojas has several arrest warrants for crimes related to organized crime in the north of the country. [Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas]

Additionally, “El Chelelo” is wanted by the US authorities, who want his extradition.
