A drug lord of Joaquín “El Chapo Guzmán” was executed in the center of Chetumal, Juan Ulises Galván Carmona, alias “El Buda”, was assassinated by two shots to the head in the mini super El Caracol, in front of the hotel Fiesta Inn, on the corner of the avenues Álvaro Obregón and Independencia.
A lieutenantof the Cartel of Los Beltran Leyva, Ulises Galván passed to the ranks of El Chapo Guzmán, he was in charge of the transfer of cocaine from Central and South America passing through Oaxaca, Guerrero and Jalisco, where the drug was distributed in Guadalajara.

It was known that “El Buda” lived in the capital of Quintana Roo for four month and and was about to open a businesses to launder money.
According to the preliminary police reports, the deceased arrived in Chetumal approximately four months ago and set up some stores located on Benito Juárez avenue and according to neighbors, he did not maintain contact with anyone and also they noted that he bought a motorcycle but did not use it.
The people around the house of the deceased said that he received food through a person that came to see him frequently, in addition he made payments for him and because of that he remained practically isolated from everyone else.
And it was this morning when the man left his house to go shopping at the mini super called “El Caracol”, located on Álvaro Obregón avenue on the corner of Independencia, close to his shop and while shopping he was attacked by a person who after executing him fled to an unknown destination.
The trajectory of “El Buda” was the following, he was an operator of the Beltrán Leyva brothers for a few years until he decited to initiate operations for the Sinaloa Cartel under the orders of Sergio Armando Barrera Salcedo, alias “El Checo”, who was arrested in 2012 by members of the Mexican Army in Tapachula, Chiapas, this according to the reports of the Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional (Sedena).
On August 7, 2012 in the Centro colonia of Tapachula, “El Checo” was detained while in company o six other members of his criminal cell, including Juan Ulises Galván Carmona, alias “El Buda”, ex member of the Beltrán Leyva Cartel who from that year on decided to join the band of “El Chapo” Guzmán.
In said action, along with Juan Ulises Galván Carmona, alias “El Buda”; was also detained Ignacio May Navarrete; Salustino Cruz Santos; Ramiro Mojica Alarcón; Eduardo Jiménez Huitrón and Ramiro Galarza Mendoza, whom were in charge of the communications and direction of all of the drug shipments that arrived from South America.
