30 Foot Humpback Whale Stuck in Core Sound in Carteret County

The Coast Guard is reporting that a 30-foot humpback whale is stuck in the Core Sound near Drum Inlet in Carteret County, NC. The U.S.Coast Guard says it doesn’t appear to be in distress although it is stuck in waters between four to eight feet in depth. The hope is that it will be able to swim out of the area during high tide.
