Reported security incidents
#1: Afghan police backed by units of the national army have killed five Taliban militants during series of operations across the country over the past 24 hours, Interior Ministry said in a statement released here on Monday. During the operations, conducted in Nangarhar, Baghlan, Uruzgan, Logar and Helmand provinces.

#2: Militants attacked and damaged two Nato containers in the Bolan district on Sunday, officials said. Levies official said that four militants on two motorcycles opened fire at tankers carrying fuel for Nato troops.“Two Nato containers were on their way to Afghanistan from Karachi when a group of assailants on motorbikes opened fire at them,” the official said. “They torched one of the containers and partially damaged the second one.” He said one Nato container was gutted while fire tenders managed to save another from complete destruction.

#3: Provincial governor for eastern Nuristan province of Afghanistan escaped unhurt from an ambush by militants in eastern Laghman province of Afghanistan. The incident took place in Bolwayi area of eastern Laghman province after a number of militants opened fire on a convoy of vehicles which was carrying Nuristan governor. A local security official speaking on the codition of anonymity said, the secretary of Nuristan governor was injured along with a number of his secuirty guards.
