Ohio University Hate Hoaxer Anna Ayers Is Arrested

Hate hoaxes flourish because normally there are no negative consequences for the hoaxers, even after they have been revealed. However, the case of Anna Ayers suggests that this could be changing, even on the most fertile soil for hate hoaxes, namely college campuses:

Ayers, commissioner of the Ohio University Student Senate Appropriations Commission, was arrested by the OU Police Department on Monday and charged with three counts of making false alarms.

She could get up to 6 months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Ayers — an OU senior studying journalism, a member of The Post Publishing Board and a previous Post columnist — reported that she received three threatening messages, two in the Student Senate office and one at her residence. An OUPD investigation found that Ayers placed the messages herself prior to reporting them.

From an earlier report, before this was predictably revealed as a hoax:

Anna Ayers, commissioner of the Senate Appropriations Commission, found two notes in the drawer of her desk in the Student Senate office. On Sept. 27, she found a “hateful, harassing” note referencing her LGBTQ identity and calling her a derogatory term. On Monday, Ayers found another note in her desk that included a threat against her life.

The specific wording of the notes was not released, but they inspired the usual moonbat preening and talk of doubling down on social justice indoctrination.

Ayers actually facing consequences is an encouraging development. Maybe, in the face of the damage inflicted on the whole country by Christine Blasey Ford’s hoax, people have had enough.
