Fourth Generation Warfare

This concept is familiar from the War on Terror and the battle with ISIS. In the foreseeable future, Americans may find themselves engaged in 4GW on our own land separate from Muslim terrorism.

Currently, increasingly militant leftists control virtually every position of authority outside of the government. We can elect Republicans, but we don’t vote for the progressives who dominate Big Tech, the news media, academia, advertising, corporate America, or the federal bureaucracy. Even with Republicans currently prevailing in Washington, liberty is under decentralized attack. Examples from just the past few days:

• The Proud Boys are cut off from recruiting on social media.
• Mainstream Christian LifeSiteNews may be deplatformed.
• Libertarian Twitter alternative Gab is shut down by tech companies.

If the zero-tolerance attitude that currently characterizes the Left continues to intensify, consider the consequences of Democrats getting the upper hand in Washington. The constant influx of Democrat voters across the border makes it inevitable.

The situation could deteriorate to the point that the current Cold Civil War heats up into 4GW.

People assume that no rebellion could stand up against the mighty US military. Yet the federal government may prove unable to stop an army of unarmed (except for their babies) welfare colonists marching on our border under the flag of Honduras.

Nukes, aircraft carriers, even tanks and jets could prove useless against a decentralized opponent that relies on knowledge of the terrain, propaganda, psychological warfare, and divided loyalties. In a nascent form, this force already exists:

[T]he United States has a homegrown militia movement that is heavily armed and, to varying degrees, ready for battle. When the AR-15 is talked about as a “weapon of war on our streets,” it is frequently mentioned in the same breath how an insurrection in the United States would never stand a chance against the modern weapons of war wielded by the federal government. This would be news to the Viet Cong. People who make such statements are unaware of the dynamics of 4GW. …

The point of 4GW, from the perspective of the underdog, is less about “winning” in some quick and dramatic fashion, and more about dragging out the conflict as long as possible, causing the dominant power to lose through blood loss and death by 1,000 cuts.

It wouldn’t happen overnight, but a fourth-generation war could be won by insurgents. That’s why disarming the American population is likely to become a top priority when Democrats get the upper hand again in Washington. The more radical their intentions, the more aggressively they will come after guns before moving on to the rest of the agenda.
