Fordham University Compels False Speech

Silencing dissent is only moderate tyranny. Extreme tyranny is when you are compelled to say what you do not believe. Fordham University provides an example:

Fordham University’s Political Science department announced on Thursday that it had voted unanimously to adopt a new policy regarding students’ preferred names and gender pronouns. The policy mandates that professors must use a student’s “preferred” name and pronouns.

That is, you must say that a man is a woman by referring to him as “her,” when doing so advances the liberal agenda.

The Department of Modern Languages and Literature already imposes this policy. This kind of rot starts with the softer liberal arts; from there it spreads. Before long, science professors will be compelled to say that the lack of carbon taxes makes there be forest fires in California.
