Time for Darl Easton to Step Aside

According to his Facebook page,

Darl Easton has served as a Republican Party Precinct Chair since 2009. Born and raised in Ohio. Moved to Florida to attend college at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering. I then joined the U.S. Air Force graduating from Pilot Training in 1971, and served for 22 years. After military retirement, he moved to Euless, TX in to work at for Atlantic Southeast Airlines, and subsequently for United Airlines for a total of 15 years.

After retirement, became active in the Tarrant County Republican Party by serving as a Precinct Chair, Area Leader, and Executive Committee. I’ve been a delegate to Senate District, State, and National Conventions.

The selection of Dr. Shahid Shafi, a self-styled devout mosque-going individual, has created an uproar across North Texas. This is because he refuses to respond to the questions presented and provide Darl Easton’s justification for Dr. Shafi’s selection. Ironically, the few Precinct members who dared raised concerns were stigmatized as bigoted, racist and un-American.

To get to the bottom of this fiasco, I sent out two articles to see if I could convince the Chair to have a meeting with all the members, along with his Vice Chair, to clarify any misunderstandings. Instead, Mr. Easton chose to respond to my articles in a manner that is not suitable for a Republican Chair. In his first response, he states:

And with his second response he continued with another ad hominem attack, accusing me not being un-Christian:

Although Mr. Easton said that Dr. Shafi is willing to answer the questions that have been raised, he said he would only do so “WITH THOSE PEOPLE THAT HAVE AN OPEN MIND”! What does that mean? It means only to those who are ignorant of Islam’s mission and are unaware of Islam’s imminent and dangerous expansionism throughout Texas.

The bottom line is that the non-Islamic world has a huge problem on its hands: ever-encroaching Islam. For as long as there are mosques, madrasahs, and Islamic centers, as long as there are vast cadres of well-paid, highly indoctrinated and strategically placed mullahs and imams, and, as long as there are people who prefer to be treated as children, Islam will flourish anywhere and will pose an existential threat to all unbelievers.

Many people have asked me why I have put my life in harm’s way to tangle with Islam, and why I do what I do. Born into a Muslim family but never practiced, yet having witnessed firsthand the horrors and indignity that Islam visits on people it subjugates, I have taken it upon myself to do my part in defeating this ideology of oppression, hate and violence. Islam is wrapped in deception as a spiritual dogma or religion, and is more dangerous than Nazism, Communism and Fascism combined.

My efforts aim to help people decide if they want to rank with the slaves to Sharia or if they want to truly live as free men. The truth shall set you free, it is said, but first it will shatter the cozy, sweet world you live in.

Nowadays, we hear from the non-Muslim world about the moderate version of Islam and moderate Muslims. In my view, being a Muslim and not being radical is just simply not possible. Freedom lets a person make choices and be up-front about it. And that’s where I part with those who would prefer to be sheep and have sheepdogs hem them in.

Many non-Muslims are obviously very well-meaning about Islam, but they are also extremely naïve and ignorant of the facts. They seem to think that Islam is just another religion of love and peace, and that Muslims should be given full freedom to practice even the aspects of their religion that contradict American laws and threaten American freedoms. Do they also believe that thieves, misogynists, rapists, child molesters and any and all manner of people who are practicing evils should be given complete carte blanche to carry on with what they value and believe? These well-meaning people are just as deluded as the fanatic jihadists, in refusing to acknowledge the fact that one cannot be a Muslim and not abide by the dictates of the Quran.

In short, it is time for Mr. Easton to step aside. He has failed Tarrant County Republicans time and again. He has turned this beautiful and large county purple and soon to be green.
