Cold for a Cause Final Year Begins TODAY at Noon

This is the 10th and FINAL year for Cold For A Cause is this weekend (January 11th – 13th)! Come support your community. You may drop off donations (canned goods, clothing, blankets, etc) to Macon County Farm Bureau, located at 1866 Highlands Rd in Franklin NC. [LINK]

Outlook

Cold high pressure will remain across the Carolinas and Northeast Georgia this weekend…while a moist low-pressure system tracks northeast through Sunday. This low will create wintry weather over portions of the forecast area into Sunday. Dry high pressure builds back over the area Monday and will persist through the end of the work week.

Only at the Pole – the sun circles around the horizon in 24h here is a time-lapse of nearly 5 days from March 08-13, 2017.

So only a few days until sunset so in the course of 360° the sun moves a bit closer to the horizon.

Weather Hazards

Macon County is under a Winter Weather Advisory issued by the National Weather Service, but Macon Media believes the impacts in Macon County will be minimal as long as motorists drive in a responsible manner.
