Christie: Kushner’s vendetta hurt Trump’s presidency

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

In his soon to be released book, Let Me Finishformer New Jersey Governor Chris Christie claims that he was dismissed as Chairman of the Trump transition team at the behest of Jared Kushner, the President’s son-in-law, and that the Trump White House would be a much more effective place today had he, instead of Vice President Mike Pence, overseen the establishment of the Administration, according to a review of the book published at The Guardian.

At the heart of it is Christie’s desire to tell the American people that had his transition plan been adopted after Trump’s shock victory on election night in November 2016, the Trump White House would be a much more effective place today. Once he had been tossed overboard, the new transition team led by Vice President-elect Mike Pence had a “thrown-together approach” that led to appalling choices of senior personnel “over and over again”.

Christie writes that Steve Bannon, while firing the former governor, told him of Kushner, “The kid’s been taking an ax to your head with the boss ever since I got here.”

Kushner continues to hold a grudge against Christie for the prosecution of his father, Charles Kushner, for witness tampering while the author was U.S. Attorney for New Jersey, according to the review.  The younger Kushner believes his father’s crime was a private matter than should have been allowed to be handled within the family or by rabbis.

Christie would have been Vice President or Attorney General, if not for the metaphorical Kushner ax to his head.

The former governor turned numerous jobs in the Trump Administration including, Special Adviser to the President in the White House, Labor Secretary,  Homeland Security Secretary, and Ambassadorships to Rome and the Vatican.

Let Me Finish is scheduled to be released on January 29.  It has a list price of $28 and is discounted pre-order on Amazon to $18.30 for the hardcover edition.  The Kindle edition is $14.99
