Outlook

High pressure will continue dry and mild weather into Thursday. A weak frontal system will cross the forecast area Thursday night and Friday, with a highly moist system expected Saturday night into Sunday. Very cold high pressure will build across the region early next week.

A strong cold front is expected to push through the region this weekend with gusty winds supporting rapidly falling temperatures with northwest flow snow by late in the weekend. Several inches of snow focused near the Tennessee border is possible during this time. Low temperatures in the single digits and teens are possible Sunday night with dangerously cold wind chills falling into the single digits to below zero.
