Just when you thought the Jussie Smollett could not possibly get any more disgusting, we come to the part where he tries to evade responsibility by blaming addiction. No need for consequences; just like Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey, all Jussie needs is rehab. Via the Sun:

Smollett told officers he has a drug problem as they arrested him for allegedly staging a “racist and homophobic” street attack to boost his career, according to US reports.

Cops later said the Empire star bought ecstasy from an alleged accomplice suspected of pretending to be an attacker in the hoax.

If he is convicted, a drug issue could be used as a mitigating factor and get his sentence reduced.

There must actually exist people who think it is not insane to give a criminal a lighter sentence in light of his use of illegal drugs.
