Judge Blocks Drilling in Name of Climate Change

There is more than one way to skin a cat. When progressives cannot impose their agenda through democratic means, they turn to activist judges, who do it on a more openly tyrannical basis. Leftists oppose freedom and the wealth it creates because wealthy free people are more difficult to control. Consequently…

…a US judge has temporarily halted hundreds of drilling projects for failing to take climate change into account.

Drilling for oil has no measurable effect on the weather. They may just as well halt drilling projects that fail to take into account homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia, racism, patriarchy, or any other item out of their grab bag of balderdash.

Drilling had been stalled on more than 300,000 acres of public land in Wyoming after it was ruled the Trump administration violated environmental laws by failing to consider greenhouse gas emissions. The federal judge has ordered the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), which manages US public lands and issues leases to the energy industry, to redo its analysis.

They only have to bog it down in bureaucratic BS long enough for Bernie Sanders to get into a position to put the kibosh on it altogether.

Environmental advocates are praising the move, with Jeremy Nichols, WildEarth Guardians’ Climate and Energy Program director, calling it a “triumph for our climate”.

At least they don’t try to control the weather by cutting out children’s hearts, a comparably effective technique employed in this hemisphere before Columbus arrived.

Not that the moonbat approach to climate control is not highly injurious in its own way.

Nichols predicts there will be implications for public lands across the west. His group is now poised to bring litigation to block drilling on hundreds of thousands of acres in other states.

If economic saboteurs like Nichols get their way, we will be forced to pay more for energy, while financing the Islamic regimes of the Middle East rather than producing it ourselves.
