Teslas Emit More Carbon Than Diesel Mercedes

Pricey, coercively subsidized Teslas are about virtue signaling. They are not about reducing carbon emissions. The German think tank Ifo (Institute for Economic Research) finds that they actually produce more than regular cars:

The study, for instance, estimates that driving a Tesla Model 3 in Germany is responsible for 156 to 181 grams of CO2 per kilometer. That is more than a diesel-powered Mercedes C220d which produces just 141 grams per kilometer.

Producing electric cars also produces plenty of CO2. Also, unbeknownst to many a posturing moonbat, the electricity that makes the car go has to come from somewhere. Often it comes from burning coal.

Ecologically minded customers should also keep in mind the CO2 that could be released when Teslas burn down garages.

To actually reduce greenhouse gases, Ifo says we should look to hydrogen or green methane to power vehicles.

However, there wouldn’t be much point, since greenhouse gases help the plants grow and the climate will fluctuate no matter what we use to make cars go. The entire issue is fake, so what does it matter if emissions are actually reduced, so long as the car makers get their subsidies and the customers get to feel righteous?
