MSNBC Gets Second Amendment

Leftists pretend not to understand the purpose of the Second Amendment, sometimes spewing irrelevant idiocy as foolish as “No one needs 10 bullets to kill a deer.” Actually, they understand perfectly well why the Founding Fathers gave such a priority to the right to bear arms. A reporter for liberal MSNBC let this slip:

A journalist reporting on the crisis in Venezuela Tuesday said the efforts to oust President Nicolas Maduro are taking longer than expected in part because not everyone in the country is allowed to own guns.

Like a typical socialist tyrants, Maduro’s predecessor Hugo Chavez outlawed private ownership of guns in 2012.

“So if the military have the guns, they have the power,” MSNBC contributor Kerry Sanders told host Andrea Mitchell during her show, according to a report from Mediaite.

For once MSNBC has got it right. When the government has all the guns, it has all the power. In that case, it doesn’t matter what the constitution says, as Maduro has been proving.

In contrast, when the people have guns, the people have power, and government can be restrained from tyranny.
