Outlook

A cold front will approach the region from the northwest today and then likely stall over or near the region tonight through Saturday. Rainfall amounts may reach 3 to 4 inches in the county during this timeframe. The boundary will return north as a warm front the latter half of the weekend as a stronger cold front approaches from the west. The cold front will cross the area Sunday night and move off the Atlantic coast on Monday. Dry high pressure will set up over
the area through the middle of next week.

Weather Hazards

A cold front will approach the area today while the atmosphere becomes moderately unstable during the afternoon. Strong to even severe thunderstorms may develop. Large hail and possibly damaging winds will be the main threats, along with the potential for localized flooding associated with slow-moving storms. An active weekend is on tap for the region with widespread showers and thunderstorms expected. Isolated severe storms are possible, producing damaging wind gusts and locally excessive rainfall.
