Nafris Commandeer Public Pool in Düsseldorf

During a heat wave is a lousy time for Germany to be culturally enriched. When Germans tried to cool off at a public pool last Saturday in Düsseldorf, they encountered several hundred young colonists running amok:

Local media put the number of the rowdy pool-goers at 400, reporting that the crowd primarily consisted of people of North-African origin.

It is encouraging that they can still include that detail without losing their broadcasting license or even going to jail for being racists.

While native Germans presumably cowered in fear that they would be called culturally insensitive, a Turkish father scolded some of the hooligans, calling them Nafris.

The controversial term is a police abbreviation, meaning “North African Intensive Offenders,” and became public knowledge after the 2016 New Year Eve mass sexual assaults in Cologne. It has been condemned by critics as a racial slur.

Maybe it’s okay to use it so long as you’re not German.

When police arrived, they were “pelted with empty bottles and other objects.” Reinforcements were required to get the mob under control. The pool shut down early. Then it had to shut down early again the next day, despite a high temperature 15° above average, due to the same group of hooligans.

Foreign conquest isn’t much fun, even in our new age of soft demographic warfare.
