The President of Chile Did It Right

It brought tears to my eyes when the last man came out of the mine disaster in Chile. The president of Chile took great risks in being there for the miners in seeing to the success of the disaster solution. It brought tears to my eyes watching how they all worked together as one. All for each other showed great trust and respect. It was an uplifting event. Hooray for Chile!

Then, my mind went to the Gulf Oil Spill Disaster that Obama took charge of and failed to bring everyone together. I got angry just thinking of the things that Obama did to make it difficult to solve the problem quickly. He refused help from other countries. He put a six-month moratorium on deep-water drilling. He kept the state governors from building berms and obtaining equipment needed to keep the oil from hitting land. He was a “hands off” president. He went down to the Gulf coast to eat tacos and tell the people “I cannot suck it up with a straw.” Unbelievable!

Instead of bringing all Americans together in this largest oil spill disaster in the history of the world, he divided people, played politics, and just botched the entire effort. The press again gave him a pass. If GWB were still the president, the press would have definitely crucified him for botching the oil spill disaster. It is shameful how Obama gets away with murder (yes, 13 men were killed in the explosion of the oilrig) for every screw up he commits.  On the British Petroleum disaster, 11 people died in the explosion and resulting fires. Two more men were killed in related cleanup incidents.

We must make a midcourse correction for this errant presidency and administration. November 2, 2010, is the all-important date to make that correction. Obama could have been a hero as is the president of Chile. Instead, by his poor leadership, Obama looks like a fool with his pants on the ground. Shameful!
