Sean Spicer Addresses Bias Against Kavanaugh and the Sad State of Political Comedy

Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer guested on New York’s AM 970 Sunday to tell host John Catsimatidis about the media and their “personal animus” against President Trump..

Spicer, who engaged with the “elite media” while part of the Trump administration, said those in the MSM are strongly positioned against not only Trump, but anyone connected to him:

“They don’t like conservatives in general.”

Though noting that “there are a lot of really good reporters out there,” Spicer pointed to the White House press corps as a particularly biased bunch.

Sean went on to address the current state of political comedy, citing hilarity-ruining hostility on NBC’s Democratic downer Saturday Night Live:

“I think they’ve kind of crossed that line, and become an agenda-based show where they are not in the camp of being funny as much as personally attacking the President and the folks around him in a very mean-spirited way.”

Very true. As recognized by SNL alums Rob Schneider and Norm Macdonald, it’s very noticeable in his performance that Alec Baldwin, who portrays the President on the weekly live show, absolutely abhors Donald Trump. His hatred comes through, crafting a spectacle that’s tense, uncomfortable, and worlds away from comical.

Schneider put it this way:

“I don’t find his impression to be comical. Because…I know the way his politics lean and it spoils any surprise. There’s no possible surprise. He so clearly hates the man he’s playing.”

Sean lamented the downfall of a once-comical arena:

“I think that they’ve lost funny, and gone straight after mean and attack because of their personal animus towards the president.”

Moving on to the case of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and allegations of teenage sexual misconduct, Spicer addressed the hypocrisy of Democrats who refuse to condemn Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., despite charges of abuse by two women:

“You see some of these Democratic senators that have really already decided in their mind on the Kavanaugh case, that they’ve given the [Democratic National Committee] deputy chair, who is a current congressmen, a pass.”

Yyyyyyyep.

The Kavanaugh situation is the worst politics has to offer. You could see it coming, a mile away. As soon as Kavanaugh was named, the Left cranked its slander machine. Christine Blasey Ford is the new Anita Hill, courted by Democrats as a by-any-means-necessary employment in order to defeat their opponents.

Meanwhile, the media will continue to batter Kavanaugh, Trump, and anyone who supports them.

Like Spicer said:

“I really don’t think they like this president. And it shows every single day.”
