Dianne Feinstein Calls Christine Ford a Liar

The key reason for today’s grotesque circus lies at the feet of California Senator and possible ChiCom Useful Idiot Dianne Feinstein. Christine Ford sent her letter with her half-baked allegation about Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh to Feinstein. It was Feinstein who sat on it rather than acting. It was Feinstein, or her office, who leaked the letter to CNN. And a substantial body of evidence points to a Feinstein staffer named Heather Sawyer as the source of the leak.

They didn’t inform Grassley of the Ford letter, either. Instead, according to multiple sources familiar with Judiciary’s Kavanaugh investigation, Feinstein staffer Heather Sawyer leaked Ford’s letter to the media in violation of Senate Rule 29(5). https://t.co/rPRgHVa2wZ

This isn’t necessarily trivial (though it will probably end up being that).

Today, Senator John Cornyn brought up the subject of the leak in an exchange with Dianne Feinstein.

Cornyn: Can you tell us your staff did not leak it?

Feinstein: Oh, I don’t believe my staff would leak it. I have not asked that question directly, but I do not believe they would.

Cornyn: Do you know that? I mean how in the world did that get in the hands of the press?

Feinstein: The answer is no. The staff would not.

Cornyn: Did you as your staff or any other member of the Judiciary Committee?

Feinstein: I just did. Well, Jennifer reminds me I’ve asked her before about it.

Cornyn: Well, somebody leaked it, if it wasn’t you.

Feinstein: Well, I’m telling you it was not…I did not…I mean I was asked to keep it confidential and I’m critized for that, too.

Feinstein says most likely leak of Ford’s letter was from “her friends.”

Cornyn points out her friends didn’t have the letter.

Feinstein says friends may have spread story (not letter) by word of mouth.

The problem here is that a) CNN got a copy of the letter she sent to Feinstein in confidence and b) Ford said, under oath, she didn’t send the letter to anyone else. While I find damn little reason to believe much of anything from Ford, this is one of the rare items that, unlike her grandmother’s funeral, she remembers and which rings true.

Feinstein is not, I think, in any real jeopardy beyond having her dubious reputation as a grifter (check the net worth of her husband since she became senator) and employer of last resort of Chinese intelligence agents made more dubious. And Cornyn did a great service by pointing out that this whole sorry spectacle was started by the ranking member of the Judiciary Committee. The fact that Feinstein would cavalierly toss her under the bus should be a sign to everyone that no one in the Democrat party cares about Ford. She had a purpose to serve and she served it and now she is totally expendable.
