Cornwall Council director takes £2.5m, given new job

 In an unsurprising story, the Minister of Economic Growth and Development for Cornwall Council John Betty has been found to have spent £2.5 million of taxpayers money on business cases for proposed developments without approval. His mates have managed to save him and get him a new position as Commercial Growth Advisor, not a bad job for someone that can’t count. Cornwall Council Cabinet has said it will now monitor internal events, so that next time gagging orders can be approved to stop the story going public, usual business. More information is going to be provided at the next behind-closed-doors meeting. Everything is ok though as the £2.5m was put towards creating new homes for local people, new office and business space and the theft  purchase and development of land at Langarth Farm which will “bring foward the development of a high quality housing scheme”. Note by high quality it won’t be for locals, no locals have jobs to afford high quality. Also note that for local people doesn’t mean for local people as not only does the council fail to record numbers of local people given housing but the excuses for having a local connection to the area are laughable.

Also in other news Cornwall Council is considering raising car parking charges by up to 5 times their current costs, this is to deter people from using town centres  cars and to finance the councils vanity projects.
