Another "Mueller Commission" Is Suggested to Be Created in Sweden

In recent years, international media has been full of headlines about external influence at the election process in different countries. Although all nations tended to influence each other’s internal processes during the world history, exactly at the present moment the intrusion into the election campaigns has become almost the main tool in the fight for both circle of influence and the world leadership. The attempts to affect elections are being taken at all levels (from the municipal to the state ones). Versatile methods (from clandestine political support through the agency of foreign media and smear web campaigns to secret funding, cyber-attacks, plots, etc.) are employed in the process. Countries such as the USA, France, the UK, Germany, Poland, etc. have already become victims of such an intrusion.

The recent parliamentary elections in Sweden were no exception. The authorities speak about possible attempts of external influence at the elections to Riksdag. An active outer intrusion has led to a sensational success of the far right party Sweden Democrats, which has strengthened its positions in the Parliament. It has dramatically changed the political alignment in Sweden and has made it difficult to create a new government. This point of view was stated by a famous Sweden politician and diplomat Carl Bildt. He said, “the elections with so many violations and such an unfair play may not be recognized…”

Sweden became another victim of external influence during the elections and that is an undeniable fact! Is there any other way to explain the incredible growth of Sweden Democrats’ electorate? It is public knowledge with whom the SD cooperate – the racists and Nazis just like them. Russians do not care a damn about the world public and interfered into the elections again. Even for Skåne County the results of SD are too high where only in Sjöbo Municipalit the result turned out to be by 9.4% higher. Åkesson and his gang betrayed the country when they went off to Russians. This is not democracy. The elections with a variety of violations and foul play could not be considered as successful because in these circumstances the Riksdag will be unable to function effectively. The electoral system is losing its confidence before the society. A month after the elections the politicians still did not form the coalition while all parties offer each other cooperation but nobody is open for the dialog. It seems no one in Sweden has idea of how the government will carry out its functions. Seems the only way to clean up this mess is to set up a Mueller-like Special Counsel because the violations during the elections already affect the situation in Sweden.

Besides that, the politician called upon to create a special commission on the investigation of the supposed intrusion into the Swedish elections. He suggested using the model of the American Robert Mueller commission, which has been investigating Russian influence at the 2016 US presidential election campaign. The actual character of Bildt’s suggestion is worth noting. Definitely, these days, almost all elections are reported to be affected by a foreign force. As the Swedish politician correctly noted, “the society’s confidence level towards the election system is decreasing”. Many people don’t believe in the fairness and pureness of elections. It’s possible that the only way to overcome this tendency, which has turned into a real plague of the XXI century, is to create either special national commissions or an international body which will be authorized to fight the unpunished intentions of some countries to influence other states’ processes.
