Trump on Decisions: ‘I Don’t Think About Them’ (Plus: a Perplexingly Reasonable President)

In case you haven’t been watching CNN or MSNBC, Donald Trump is insane. He’s a racist psycho ruling the White House, dictatorially presiding over a murderous, authoritarian regime aimed at wiping out the entire planet except Russia and a bunch of similarly-sinister whiteys (here, here, and here).

Somehow, however, in his interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday, Trump seemed like a normal, reasonable person. See for yourself.

As Trump gave Wallace a tour of Hitler Central — I mean, the Oval Office — the host asked Donald how he makes his presidential decisions:

“When you’re sitting at the desk, how do you make decisions? I mean, do you agonize over them? Do you second-guess yourself?”

The President explained that he takes decisive action after consulting his smart staff:

“I don’t think about it. I don’t think about…how I make them. I make what I consider the right decision. I have great people working at the White House. They don’t get enough credit. I have some tremendously talented people. And I will talk to them and sometimes I’ll have them go at each other. I do like that — you know, let them go at each other. And they do — they’re very competitive people. And at the end, I make a decision. And, certainly, on the economy — a lot of things — we’ve made a lot of good decisions. And I want to keep it that way.”

Chris inquired as to whether Trump ever wonders if he made the right choice:

“Do you ever second-guess yourself?”

What would any reasonable person say?

“Yes, all the time.”

Bingo.

“And do you change?”

Despite the Left’s portrayal of Trump as a maniacal, fang-dripping, bloody-eyed lunatic, he said he — brace for sensibleness  — adjusts what he’s doing.

“I’ve done things where I wished I went a different route. But then what you do is you change course and you bring it back. You stabilize it out.”

Chris: “Toughest decision you’ve had to make as President?”

“Well, I think North Korea’s been very tough. … [I] think we had a real decision as to which way to go on North Korea. And certainly, at least so far, I’m very happy with the way we went.”

Wallace interrupted:

“Even though there’s talk about [sic] that they’re putting in sites?”

Trump said he’ll go with the flow, but his decisions will be informed by America’s best interest:

“Maybe they are, maybe they’re not…could be. And if that’s the way it goes, that’s the way it goes. You know, I go with the way that we have to go. But so far, it’s been good — we have a very good relationship. We’ve made — I think — some great decisions for the people of this country. And I do, you know, I put America first. … Other countries should put themselves first. … [W]e were putting our country — in many cases — last. We were more worried about the world than we were worried about the United States. That’s not going to happen with me.”

Huh. Maybe he’s not a Lucifer-worshipping, mentally unhinged, walking moral atrocity after all (here, here, and here). He’s even maybe kind of a softy — but level-headed enough to understand a need for aggression at times. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you yet another helping of sensible Trump:

“I think that if I was very different, I wouldn’t have gotten what we had to get. We got the biggest tax cuts in history, we got ANWR approved, we got rid of the individual mandate…and, you know, the regulations. I think if I was a more modified [sic], more moderate in that sense, I don’t think I would’ve done half of the things that I was able to get completed. With that being said, other than you have to have a certain ability to fight back — and, as you know, people have…they take strong stance on me… [B]ut tone is something that is important to me. But a lot of times, you can’t practice tone because you have people coming at you so hard that if you don’t fight back in a somewhat vigorous way, you’re not going to win. And we have to win. This country has to win. … And I think if I go too low-key, we’re not going to have those victories.”
