Jussie Smollett Tells Cops He Has A Drug Problem.

Well….you had to know something like this was going to leak out to try and salvage some of his career and try to clean up this mess Smollett is in.

According to Page Six…

Jussie Smollett told cops he has an untreated drug problem — raising questions about whether he might try to use the claim to at least get any potential prison sentence reduced, according to a report Friday.

The “Empire” star divulged his alleged drug problem after turning himself in Thursday morning on charges he filed a false police report involving a hate crime, TMZ reported.

Prosecutors said Abimbola “Abel” Osundairo, one of the brothers who helped Smollett allegedly stage the Jan. 29 hate attack, served as Smollett’s drug dealer, selling him Molly several times since the spring of 2018.

He has an untreated problem with Molly? I had to look  up what or who Molly was or is.

I guess ecstasy need a rebranding in the ’80s and the term Molly began to surface. I don’t see where in the description above where it leads you to lie about being assaulted to try and increase your value in the entertainment world. Maybe I’m missing something here.

There is a very fine line here that needs to be walked. Drug addiction is a serious problem in this country and needs to be dealt with. People do some pretty damn odd things under the influence of all types of drugs. However, Jussie planed this, called cops to report it and went on T.V. to defend himself and his alleged faux story according to prosecutors. I don’t think this is a result of having an untreated drug problem, I’m thinking this is him learning how to be a better actor. He was pretty convincing in his pre-arrest interview and statements that he had nothing to do with the attack on him.

What I also find interesting is that so far we have heard nothing about Abimbola “Abel” Osundairo who helped stage the attack and also allegedly sold Smollet the drug, being charged with anything. The police said on Thursday no deal had been struck for the brothers to go before a Grand Jury to testify and nothing being done about this part seems a lil curious to me.

This does seem like an obvious ploy to start to muddy up the water being it looks like the Prosecutor has the goods on Jussie. His only hope is to try and cut a deal before a trial and try to lessen what could be handed down from a jury.

Although, maybe his newfound acting skills could help him out.
