Rep. Rashida Tlaib Calls Her Own Party Leadership Racist in Response to Ilhan Omar Dispute

There’s so much civil warring going on within the Democratic party that I can barely keep up. I’m actually getting tired of writing about it, but hey, the news is the news.

In the wake of Rep. Ilhan Omar’s dismissive comments on 9/11, the response has perhaps been even worse. Omar herself has accused Republicans of inciting violence against her for simply quoting her verbatim. How that makes any sense is anyone’s guess, but it’s 2019 and this is the modern woke, liberal movement. Many other Democrats fell in line and rushed to her defense, including most of the 2020 hopefuls in what can only be described as a pathetic show of fealty.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, one of the “fresh faces” of the Democratic 2018 class took it a step further and decided to call everyone a racist.

“Taking it out of context, this is just pure racist act by many of those—hateful acts by those because she does speak truth when it talks about different issues that they don’t disagree with. And I’m really outraged because as a person that has gotten direct death threats myself I know that her life is put in more danger.”

Not content with just hitting at Trump and Republicans, Tlaib is apparently incensed that any Democrat would even passively suggest Omar could have handled the situation better.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) lashed out at Democrats — not Republicans — yesterday, in the wake of criticism leveled at Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) for minimizing the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, accusing Dem leadership, including Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), of racism and using Congressional colleagues of color as “tokens of diversity.”

Fox News reports that Tlaib “claimed in a Twitter message Saturday that she and other minority members of the party have been used as tokens whenever the party wants to project an image of inclusiveness.”

Tlaib would go on to complain specifically about the Democratic party using her self-proclaimed “squad” in promotional campaigns while supposedly not giving them a seat at the table over policy.

“They put us in photos when they want to show our party is diverse,” Tlaib wrote on social media. “However, when we ask to be at the table, or speak up about issues that impact who we are, what we fight for & why we ran in the first place, we are ignored. To truly honor our diversity is to never silence us.”

Tlaib also retweeted a post from Omar, essentially accusing Pelosi of the same, as well as a post from a “human rights activist” who doubled down.

“More and more we’re realizing that POC [people of color] are used as props by @TheDemocrats,” Tlaib’s retweeted missive read. “When we run, we’re told to wait our turn. When we speak about our struggles, we’re told we’re angry. When we ask them to stand up for us, they say we’re being divisive.”

Tlaib’s favorite game since getting elected is accusing anyone who disagrees with her as being discriminatory against “people of color.” She normally saves those volleys for the GOP but in this case, she’s training her fire at her own party leadership. I almost feel sorry for Nancy Pelosi having to put up with this but then I remember that she’s helped nurture this new woke left, so nah.

Tlaib’s claims are nonsensical and come off like the whining of a spoiled child. Does she not realize that she’s just one of 435 members of the House? What makes her voice more worthy of a seat at the table that some no-name representative from Nebraska? Did she really think she could walk in as a 1st term Congressional member and start dictating policy direction? The mentality of entitlement that’s come along with the elections of Tlaib, Omar, and AOC is a sight to behold. These people really do think they are the most important voices in our government and in regards to the Democratic party, are they wrong? No, not really. They are controlling the messaging at least and Pelosi has no one to blame but herself for creating the mess she now finds herself in.

I’ll note that despite all this infighting, the media seem to have no interest in actually reporting on it. Republicans can disagree about where to go for dinner and you’ll get dozens of “CIVIL WAR!!” headlines. Meanwhile, you’ve got Tlaib accusing Nancy Pelosi of racism and CNN is all “meh…” about it.

Pelosi’s wing has already lost this battle. They just don’t realize it yet. Democrat politicians are terrified of ticking off their woke, inter-sectional base and the rabidness of said base is only growing more fierce. We see the kowtowing of the 2020 candidates, such as Beto going full beta male and apologizing for being white. Biden has done similar things. This is the new Democratic party and Tlaib, Omar, and AOC are running things. Pelosi and the rest of the leadership get to enjoy the monster they’ve created.
