AOC Is Accusing Border Patrol of Purposely Detaining a U.S. Citizen, Here’s the Real Story

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who’s already gotten one person killed with her false, insane rantings about concentration camps on the border, has made it her mission as a Congressional member to constantly slander the Border Patrol. Never mind that they are doing an incredibly difficult job with limited resources. Better to just accuse them of being Nazis while simultaneously refusing to give them the funding they need. Makes sense.

Here’s the latest outrage, which comes courtesy of a retweet of “Collusion” Ken Dilanian, who has a long history of taking his marching orders directly from Fusion GPS.

As usual, this sounds really bad but resembles very little of the actual truth.

Oddly enough, it was The Washington Post that managed to get to the bottom of what happened.

The reason it appears to have taken CBP and ICE so long to determine Galicia’s citizenship is because his mother, who is not a citizen, took out a U.S. tourist visa in his name while he was still a minor, falsely saying he was born in Mexico, [Claudia Galan, his attorney] said. His mother, Sanjuana, told The Post that CBP discovered the visa after fingerprinting her son. The conflicting documents only fueled the agency’s suspicion that Galicia’s U.S. documents were fake, Galan said.

This is a story that’s probably not unique. The mother, having a child that was a legal U.S. citizen, used that child’s name to fraudulently apply for a visa while marking him as being born in Mexico. This was supposedly done so that the son could travel back and forth to Mexico. But why couldn’t the son just get a U.S. Passport if he was a U.S. citizen? Well, that would be because the mother didn’t even use her real name on his birth certificate.

The undocumented mother was unable to get him a U.S. passport because when Galicia was born, Galan said, she gave a different name for herself on his birth certificate. (The birth certificate and other identifying documents were reviewed by The Post.)

All of this has rightly led CBP to suspect Galicia’s documents are fake. His mother and her attorney are trying to secure his release by presenting other documentation but it will take time to verify everything.

In the end, this is not the fault of CBP or the U.S. government. This is the fault of a mother who crossed the border illegally to give birth and then lied on his birth certificate. Showing even more contempt for the rule of law, she compounded her past fraud by applying for a U.S. visa under false pretenses. Meanwhile, CBP are left to sort through this mess, knowing that people lie about this kind of thing all the time.

Illegal immigrants are not bystanders in their ordeals. They hold responsibility for their actions. It’s completely unfair and disgusting to attack law enforcement for simply doing their jobs.
