Statement upon the brutal murder of the two Scandinavian girls (one Danish and one Norwegian woman): I find it hard to understand why they thought it was a good idea to go for a back-packing holiday in North Africa.
Ultimately it boils down to two things, a society that has lied to them since birth about the way of the world, and their fathers not taking their responsibilities. Lastly, I can only lament this tragedy and hope that more women do not repeat their mistake.
Yes, I realise that they were adults and ultimate responsible for their own actions. But let us look at what the reasonable course of action is now: In my view it is to tell other fathers that they should teach their daughters (and sons) about the reality of the world from a young age.
The mainstream society will continue to lie to young girls, thus it is up to the parents to take the responsibility of educating their children about certain dangers. If these women had not been as brainwashed, if they had gotten another narrative from someone (anyone), they might have thought twice before going. Either way, this is a tremendous tragedy, and I can only hope more women will learn from this so that it is not repeated.
