2002 Mount Etna eruption seen from the International Space Station.

The Mount Etna volcano, the highest in activity in Europe and one of the most active in the world, woke up Monday morning producing intense seismic activity and producing a cloud of ash visible from several miles away.

The activity started at 8:50 a.m. local time and just in the first three hours there were nearly 130 earthquakes, according to a statement from the Italian Institute of Geophysics and Vulcanology.

When solar cycles are around 10 to 10.5 years long, temps are high, and when solar cycles stretch out, temps are low. I think this controls our temperature ( solar activity /magnetism/cosmic waves) We seem to be in a stretching out period of the cycles right now and if so surely it will get colder as it always has. The sun may have different plans, but momentum is clearly on the side of cooling as for now. How interesting to be in a solar quiet period. I think i feel better during the minimums!
