I was with the 2nd Marine Division in 68-69…I attended many Courts Martial….Every proceeding was short, sweet, & to the point.

All dialog was absolutely verbatim, except for the names…The defendants never said a word….No ONE ever was acquitted…Most were under a AWOL charge, which resulted in a standard, 6 months confinement, 6 months hard labor, & a Bad Conduct Discharge.

I saw a Sargent get 4 years, & a Dishonerable Discharge for giving his battalion dysentery (he was a mess cook)…I saw a Mail Clerk get 7 years, & a DD for messing with 7 letters…Imprisonment meant the Naval Prison In Portsmouth, New Hampshire…Over all, Military Tribunals are NO NONSENSE.
