New Zealand Police Commissioner Mike Bush said “A serious and evolving situation is occurring in Christchurch with an active shooter,” according to Radio New Zealand. Update 7:49 a.m. EDT March 15: In a tweet early Friday, President Donald Trump sent “warm sympathy and best wishes” to the people of New Zealand after “the horrible massacre.”
“Forty-nine innocent people have so senselessly died, with so many more seriously injured,” Trump said.
