Mother-in-law is a Mumzilla

Please read this interesting article: http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/sex/mother-in-law-sends-worst-email-ever-to-bride-forgivable-2504517/.  Before marrying Freddie Bourne, Heidi Withers should determine if Freddie is a mum’s boy or not.  If he is a mommy’s boy, she should run as fast and far away from him as possible.  If he has a backbone and can stand on his own two feet without ever backing off, then he may be a good man to marry.  As suggested in the article, they should elope and spare her parents some unnecessary grief.  Having Freddie’s mum, Carolyn Bourne, at their wedding will spoil it for everyone including her parents who should be miffed at that woman’s elite attitude.

Should the couple marry, they should not plan to visit mumzilla’s family ever until she apologizes and makes amends.  After children come, some people may experience a change of heart and may want to be part of the grandchildren’s lives.  This change of heart has happened when in-laws had problems with their child marrying someone of different race, religion, or social status.  As one of the posters said, yes, you do marry into a family, not just the poor bloke.  If the bloke ever supports his mum over you, Heidi, dump him.  He would not be worth it.

After my bride and I married over some 43 years ago, my mom came to visit us and started criticizing my wife about which everything mom had disapproved.  I sat mom down and nicely told her that I did not appreciate her talking to my wife that way and that she had better back off.  We never heard any gripes from mom forevermore.  Evidently, that solved the problem ever since then.  However, it took mom almost 20 years before coming around to recognize the error of her ways.  Her paradigm shift became obvious when mom expressed to her shocked daughter-in-law (my wife) that of all of her seven children, my wife, her daughter-in-law, was doing the best job of raising children.  My mom had passed away eight years ago.

Hence, I hope that bloke has a backbone and sets things straight with his mum, or he will forever pay dreadfully from the wrath of his future wife.
