Roman Catholic scholars continue repeating their myths and their followers don’t question them

According to official Roman Catholic doctrine, God visited the earth in the form of a man 2000 years ago and this doctrine implies that the disguise in which God appeared was so effective that most people failed to recognize Him. It also implies that before God could convince the general population of His “true identity” the authorities of that day mistreated and killed Him. Then those few who publicly claimed that they could see through the disguise were also mistreated and killed. It’s also bizarre to discover that there are no historical accounts of the achievements, whereabouts and events in the final days and death of those leading witnesses who personally encountered God-in-disguise. Roman Catholics claim that Saint Peter and Saint Paul were executed in Rome at Nero’s order. But the earliest historical records do not support the claim about Peter and there are no historical records of the achievements and death of other leading witnesses. All this is bizarre but not when a few facts and existing evidence of the events and people mentioned above are examined and we join the dots to discover the truth. Israel’s Messiah and His Ambassadors were in fact pacifist religious revolutionary liberators and were murdered by the authorities.

The earliest reference to the death of Peter comes from a letter by Clement of Rome. He said, in his Letter to the Corinthians about AD 90:  ”Let us take the noble examples of our own generation. Through jealousy and envy the greatest and most just pillars of the Church were persecuted, and came even unto death… Peter, through unjust envy, endured not one or two but many labours, and at last, having delivered his testimony, departed unto the place of glory due to him.”

This account mentions Peter’s death, but the text is too ambiguous to conclude that he was executed at Nero’s order.

Tertullian wrote in about AD 195: “But if you are near Italy, you have Rome, where authority is at hand for us too. What a happy church that is, on which the apostles poured out their whole doctrine with their blood; where Peter had a passion like that of the Lord, where Paul was crowned with the death of John.”  

This account is also too vague to conclude that Peter was executed. John the Baptist was beheaded and by implication, Paul suffered the same fate. But if Peter was in fact executed by crucifixion in Rome, it’s not credible that an admirer like Tertullian would omit specific reference to an utterly courageous, spiritually significant and note-worthy death which Peter was said to have chosen.

According to Eusebius, Bishop of Caesarea (ca. 325 C.E.; Ecclesiastical History 3.1) Dionysius of Corinth wrote in about AD 200: “You (Soter) by your very admonition, have also brought together the planting that was made by Peter and Paul at Rome and at Corinth; for both of them alike planted in our Corinth and taught us; and both alike, teaching similarly in Italy, suffered martyrdom at the same time.” The letter which Dionysius wrote was apparently not copied and preserved well enough to survive until today. We only have selected quotes from the letter by Eusebius about 100 years later. The first mistake Eusebius and/or Dionysius made, was to suggest that Peter and Paul were teaching similarly in Italy. Other New testament verses indicate that the Messiah instructed Peter to go in search of Israelites and address the message to them, while Paul was sent to people of other nations. Peter would have instructed Israelites to keep the Law of Moses while Paul would have relieved his converts from most requirements in the Law. Secondly, the Greek word MARTYRIO quoted by Eusebius derives from MARTYR which means “a witness.” The modern English transliteration for MARTYR implies execution; but that’s not the primary original meaning. Execution for one’s faith was not an essential part of being a witness. Again, Dionysius makes no mention of crucifixion and it’s not credible that such a significant event would be omitted from his account of Peter’s life and death.

Eusebius: wrote that “Peter appears to have preached through Pontus, Galatia, Bithynia, Cappadocia, and Asia, to the Jews that were scattered abroad; who also, finally coming to Rome, was crucified with his head downward, having requested of himself to suffer in this way.”

Eusebius himself adds: “Thus Nero publicly announcing himself as the chief enemy of God, was led on in his fury to slaughter the apostles. Paul is therefore said to have been beheaded at Rome, and Peter to have been crucified under him. And this account is confirmed by the fact, that the names of Peter and Paul still remain in the cemeteries of that city even to this day” (Ecclesiastical History 2:25).

This is hearsay. Firstly, names on tombstones do not prove the manner of death. A logical conclusion from the evidence of Scripture and archaeology is that Peter was not crucified in Rome.

Secondly, Eusebius attributed his report of Peter’s crucifixion to Origen, who lived 100 years before Eusebius. Origen wrote a long article: “Exhortation to Martydom” and mentions Paul but not Peter. It’s not credible that Origen would omit Peter’s significant example of martyrdom from his account, unless Peter’s so-called crucifixion in Rome was a myth.

Thirdly, Eusebius wrote in the years when the Roman Emperor, Constantine, was promoting collaboration between his government and Christian leaders who were previously persecuted by Roman law. Many anti-Roman bishops refused to entertain Constantine’s advances and bribes, while Eusebius relished the opportunity to obtain official endorsement and support of his religion. It’s not surprising then, that Eusebius would glorify Peter, “the first of Apostles” and associate his death with the Messiah and with Rome, the center of Roman civilization and not surprising that he would attribute his account of Peter to Origen who wrote about “Martydom.” Eusebius would have sounded plausible and no one in that generation would have thought to question Eusebius’ claims or challenge his quotes and sources of information. Despite the absence of unambiguous historical proof of those claims, Catholic historians insist that “Peter was crucified in Rome with his head downward” simply because Eusebius said so!

The most logical explanation for the fact that we have no historical documents which accurately report the fate of the Apostles, properly called Ambassadors, except for Paul, is that the Roman authorities considered them to be leaders of a dangerous, nationalistic, revolutionary, religious movement and secretly arrested, tortured and executed them. The murders were then covered up. Furthermore, there is no evidence that Israel’s Messiah, Yeshua, claimed He was God, nor did any of His most devoted followers claim He was God in the letters they wrote.

For nearly 2000 years, the Roman Catholic church has perverted and suppressed the true Message, Vision, Mission and history of Israel’s Messiah. If any honest, intelligent and diligent team were to collaborate in a comprehensive investigation of all the facts and documents, dig deep, wide and long enough, they would discover that Yeshua was the greatest ever spiritual leader, authority and liberator, philosopher and guide, prophet, healer and teacher of God’s commands for Israelites.

Israel’s Messiah and His Ambassadors were murdered but their history, Message, Vision and Mission live on forever and therefore Yeshua is destined to lead a world-wide revolution (without using violent military methods) and which will eventually result in the elimination of all corrupt, violent political systems and empires. That’s now an undeniable fact and that’s why He trained and sent His Ambassadors to all parts of the world, warning them to “Be on guard and watch out, because the authorities will arrest and execute you.” Matthew 10:16-17; Luke 21:12; John 16:2; and He advised them: “To be as shrewd as snakes.” He is still the most brilliant political and social revolutionary leader and never revealed critical parts of His amazing liberating strategy and peaceful but aggressive tactics to the world. Those are “the secrets of God’s Kingdom” Matthew 13:11; Luke 8:10; things He “whispered in the dark and in the ear and in the inner chambers.” Matthew 10:26-27; Luke 12:2-5.

The reason the world doesn’t know anything of this is because the Jewish and Roman authorities who executed Yeshua and His Ambassadors (Apostles in Greek) carried out a concerted and sustained effort to prevent His pacifist religious liberation movement succeeding. Government officials first tried to punish, imprison and silence the Ambassadors He trained but that only drove them underground. Some sympathetic jailers helped them escape from prison. When the silencing tactics failed the authorities sent spies to infiltrate the movement, to secretly arrest, torture and kill the main leaders. Then they sent smooth-talking agents to deceive Yeshua’s leaderless, fearful and fragmented followers. They confused, divided and censored His followers and simultaneously confused and misled everyone who might have wanted to know what the movement was all about. That’s how the deep state in the USA neutralizes dissidents today. The Romans perverted Yeshua’s Message, covered up the assassinations and censored the history of their despicable campaign. That’s why nearly all relevant historical documents and evidence of their crimes from that period of tyranny, terrorism and censorship disappeared from history.

Roman Catholics deny all this. The only documents they can present for their so-called “Church history” amount to little more than rumours, myths and legends, but one day, if Yeshua was right, the Truth will emerge, and they will have no answers and no place to hide.
