What Is Electromagnetic Field and Why Should You Protect Against It?

In the past, phone users were concerned about holding a device close to their ear because of signal waves. What Is EMF Really?

EMF is the radiation given off from wireless devices. This can be your smartphone or tablet device but can easily be a 4G Mi-Fi device or a mobile phone tower mast nearby to your home or office too. The more powerful the antenna, the greater the concern over EMF exposure over time.

EMF is also called high-frequency pulsed microwave radiation. It’s a mouthful but what does it mean? It means that this type of radiation pulses out on a regular basis. There is an electrical charge and the EMF is all around it. With wireless technology being the current hot trend, there’s often no avoiding EMF broadcasts, so it’s up to the individual to protect themselves against an excessive amount of it.

How Does EMF Exposure Affect Health?

There are many negative effects of EMF that can be harmful to human health.

EMF brain exposure has been found to include glucose usage, create hyperactivity, and reduce brain development in children that overuse phones (as reported in Korea). The risk of brain cancer was also doubled after a decade of serious phone use too.

Breast cancer was significantly more likely for women who held or stored a phone near or on their chest, such as a top pocket. Reproductive abilities in men were found to be affected while testing the effects of EMF exposure; testing of women’s fertility with EMF is still ongoing.

Digital Detox?

Taking a digital detox is difficult to do in today’s business and social environment.

It’s certainly worth using a regular alarm clock and turning off your smartphone overnight. Then keep it away from your bedside table. Replace antioxidants and free radicals that are affected or depleted by EMF.

Be sure to choose the type of protection which is the most practical for you. You probably cannot avoid smartphones altogether, but there are still reasonable steps to make their use healthier.
