BJP demands EC to declare West Bengal as super sensitive state

Bharatiya Janata Party urged Election Commission on Wednesday to consider Indian state West Bengal as super sensitive and declare it according to ensure fair Lok Sabha elections that is scheduled to be held in April and May.
A BJP delegation consisting of Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Ravi Shankar Prasad, JP Nadda and others demanded EC to deploy central forces at all the polling booths in West Bengal.
Addressing to the press after their meeting with top officials of the poll body Prasad said, “We have requested the Election Commission that the state of West Bengal should be declared as super-sensitive. And have also demanded that central forces should be deployed at all polling booths in the state.”
The BJP ministers requested EC to withdraw former Kolkata police commissioner Rajeev Kumar from election duty and even to transfer all such police officers whose electoral impartiality is questionable.
West Bengal has 42 Lok Sabha seats and in 2014 Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) grabbed 34 seats. BJP won just two seats and Congress managed four. CPI(M) bagged 2 seats.
Meanwhile, Mamata Banerjee announced Wednesday names of all the 42 candidates. Forty-one percent of the candidates are women. Voters here will cast their votes in seven phases between April 11 and May 19.
The TMC chief said, “Modi babu must go from power, we want to see him out… He has somehow managed to frighten everyone. It’s like black magic. Why should we be scared of a political leader? Those who are scared, they will die. I am not scared… I will fight along with all of our friends to defeat Modi.”
